Butler's failing me?

images from the LoveBrochure that can be downloaded here

*grabs megaphone*
"Okay! Everyone split up and take refuge in your respective corners of the earth!!! There will be no more mingling and for GOD sakes no more quilting!"

The only thing that's keeping me alive is the deep
Amy Butler respect I still have left over from a few years ago. Things change, I get that -- but something's gotten a little out of hand. Amy Butler is still great & they way she eased her style to appeal to a wide audience--fantastic. I'll even go as far as to say that she developed a lifestyle. I was sorely let down by the bedding I saw at Bed Bath (but quickly picked up by the towels). . . . and now this. The Love Collection. If I squint real hard I can see them separately have potential to still be fantastic. That enlarged backdrop? (top) Getting somewhere. Hope increasing. Who knows, maybe it was just the brochure layout & choice of image placement? After all that, I found solace in a few of these. . . where things were a bit quieter. Everything just might be okay.

Shhhhh....the sideboards are sleeping.

Alba console and Lowry sideboard from PINCH

Product shots with such a quiet morning light. . . listen. Do you hear that? It's two solid wood sirens beckoning for you to fly to London and sweep them off their feet.

Our Labor of Love . . . *sigh*

the Erica + Chet wedding via Our Labor of Love

Ohhh geez. Where do I begin? Our Labor of Love is such an amazing photography team with such sweetheart creativity it'd make a sailor blush. Their passion for what they do is infectious. Check out the Smilebooth section and you'll want to invent a party tomorrow just to have an excuse to hire them.

Bring me the J10!

pieces shown above from CrazyJaneKnits

The weather is cooling down. This calls for hot tea, soups, pumpkin flavored anything (maybe even some real pumpkin) and a juicy skein of thick yarn. If I was on top of the game I'd start crocheting in August, but when have I ever been on top of the game.

CreepTown

Creep table and Creep Shelf Rose by Susan Bradley

Just when I thought I was over floral silhouettes . . . I get wooed in by a change in materials. If this were plastic I would be a bit more hesitant. But powder coated steel? Somehow it got me.

My oh MY

I haven't been this enchanted by a website in quite a long time. Poke around a bit and have some fun. Don't forget to take a dip into the content too! Gem after gem. You'll find that ALSO's design has been slipping into your life for some time now; lurking behind the e-curtain of such web favorites as DesignSponge & ReformSchool.

From the Desk of Frank Chimero

Inspirational Design Posters by Frank Chimero.

How fun would it be if instead of a lame resume and cover letter, you were hired by your ability to inspire and your range of wit? "Job requirements: Must be continuously inspire-able, and have the capacity to laugh until your sides hurt. For we all know that this (and only this) will determine your success as an addition to _________ ". And if your answer to that is "no" then there is still this to lighten your cynical load. jerk.

An Ode to Carpool Julie

Twas just one year ago, we were saving the city of Chicago from juicy bits of air pollution. *sob* But fall is more than just Fatty little treats and slow rock mix cds, its a time for a new start. Some may not agree when all the foilage around them is turning and crumpling into a mess, but its true. you can look it up. Thanks, Julie. :) You're right, I'll do it even if it's not perfect.

My name is Melisa & I have 900+ Bookmarks

Well, yeah, some of them are work related. . . . . like 5 or so. This means I must expel and clean house (for my own sanity).
