A nice, hot sip of iconography. . . .

(from top to bottom) New York Coffee Cup , Fair is Fair Trade print from Strawberryluna, & the Lucky Beggar Purse

Fall is here and I want to be in NY having a nice, iconic cup of coffee (as if there is any other kind). and as a special little bonus, here's a little history to brush up on & impress your friends

Longing for a trip. . .

Hong Kong

Denver

Portland

I'm way overdue for a mini vacation. or even a full-sized one. Top 5 places I am longing to return to at the present moment (& in order): Hong Kong, Seattle, NYC, Portland, and Denver. So to cheer me up, I dug around in the TTV dust toy box (a discovery that brought me close to fainting w/ delight) and played with some of my photos.

Reading spells FUN!

I'm stalling to finish this book because i like it so much. The wonderful title, cover, and color choices (i un-characteristically bought pink) are just the tip of the iceberg. Her writing style makes mine look a little less haphazard -- and is therefore inspiring. I love how everything she writes about seems profound and absolute. The book has a wonderful site that is not to be overlooked. If someone has painstakingly taken the time to write and erase a continuous message on their kitchen appliances, for god sakes, i will take the time to read it.....all the way through, of course. with no cheating. And i also think i want to quit my job, lock myself in a room and complete all 68 of the Learning to Love You More assignments. (Although most would require leaving said room, so i may have to re-consider the rules)

This weekend. . . .!

As many of you may already know, craftacular/handmade/Etsy things are my main squeeze. Very much so -- obsessed. This weekend's show is featuring TONS of great, independant artists so come on out so we can sqeal and scream together. :)

I'm moving in.

What an above-the-couch homerun! (note: the following list is not for the faint of heart) the sweet convex mirror from west elm, a little Yoshitomo Nara print, a nice gocco from sugarloop, the bunny crested wave print from kozyndan, and as if that all weren't wonderful enough. . . a nice fat, plain profile frame to bring in the dark woods holding some gem-of-a-print that my super
sleuth eyes cannot quite make out.

I can't remember what site i first saw these pics on . . . . but my, how i LOVE this house. Normally as i peruse through blogs, decor sites, and designer-ly sites i'm like, "that's cool-if they added this.... " or " yeah, it's nice but not livable". but this one struck me as "omg i HAVE that...and that....and THAT!!" -- very similar color palates, a lot of similar accessories, and for the first time i've seen VINYL TOYS (tokidokis & dunnys) within a super rad home!

*round of roaring applause*

i just love the feeling of the whole place & to top things off she has the coveted boston terrier!!
Check out the rest of the "crib" within her flickr pool. Bra-vo.

Some people just "get" it.. . . .

couch from Remodellista's posting on Ilse Crawford's recent Das Kranzbach

It was a delightful below zero night & we're looking for a parking spot listening to "Rain" by Bishop Allen. We pass a high rise whose lobby is home to a nice yellow couch similar to this one. . . . . & from the backseat my friend says, "Hey, this song goes w/ that couch!". Had it not been an ice fortress outside -- i may have just pulled over, jumped out of the car, and screamed "FINALLY! SOMEONE GETS IT!!!". But instead I drove along w/ my exalted, quiet, & internal joy.
I could go on & on as to why this was rad, but i won't. It just makes me happy that i have friend(s) that comprende, & that send me pictures of cool stuff they bought/cool hats they found, etc. Sometimes you (one) might think you're the only person ever to think said obj/design/packaging/furniture/vintage gem is the "COOLEST thing ever". . . . . and u may be, but there are other crazies out there who may love it just as much. :)

Pottery Lust

I put Jonathan Adler's Druggist Jar Set in a trend board back in Halloween. I can not take it down (from hanging in my cube) because staring at these beauties makes my day. looooove them.

The Vice Canisters have always been charming, but now that they come in B&W. . . there is a consideration toward liking them. In the meantime, enjoy the Jonathan Adler Manifesto with me.

Sushi Sushi!

I met a friend for sushi this weekend to catch up & it reminded me of this rad sign in Portland. Sushi is the last thing i would assocciate with urgent, maniacal blowfish. i love hilarious signage.

Coming to a living room near u. . . . .er, me.

One of these will soon be making its way onto my currently naked living room walls. I'm sorry, John W. Golden, but with 386 items for sale in your Esty shop....how's a girl to decide? Outstanding layered texture w/ a ponderable text bonus?!? oh, stop. how can i NOT get one?

Stalkasaurus: Part 2

I've been stalking these wonderful felt numbers for far too long. Top one being my fav. AnatomyOfaSkirt had the CUTEst stuff in her Etsy shop. That green purse is sort of reminiscent of the YakPak Oragami bags/backpacks circa late 90's. Which btw if ANYONE can tell me where to find one...i might die. I stalked those for so long, i watched them go right out of production. so sad.

Stalkasaurus: Part 1

I've been stalking multiple variations of these two items in hollyhawk's Etsy shop for what seems like an eternity.  I almost bought a bracelet as a birthday present to myself. . . but procrastination got the best of me.

Let's Love SUKI

Note cards, Journals, and Tea Towels. . . .Oh my!  Suki has such wonderful, charming products.  And best of all they incorporate the 3 C's (creative, collaberative couple).  love it.  I first went head over heels for their "box of labels" (pictured above) -- fancy die cut window, sweetheart color palate, and adorable little creatures.....!?!?! check check and check.

Pow-wuh

Still deciding if i love or hate the Wirepod (designed by Joris Laarman) from Artecnica. They do win a slot on my "most needed website makeover" list. Youch. But what i do like about the Wirepod is it get my wheels turning as far as "what's next" and "how could this be more wonderful" . . . . . and it does get a point or two for challenging convention & supplying 4 outlets.

Sheer Genius

Miles Aldridge is fantastic.  Look at his portfolio and try to keep it together.  It took everything in me not to post a million pictures of his work - nothing i could possibly post would do his whole body of work justice.  Great biography link as well, check it out.

Keep Calm

With new walls to decorate right around the corner, i've noticed that my stalking of the Keep Calm Gallery has increased. My top 4 picks thus far. . .

V is for Vignette

A co-worker recently turned my on the the Domino Flickr Pool. After browsing a while i begin to see the world only in vignettes...Everything has a possible paring and potential color scheme! Either way, it's great inspiration.

ZzzzZzZZzz z z

Everyone knows that nothing's better than a summer afternoon nap. Windows open, cool breeze, beginning sentences with prepositions...the whole sha-bang.  Seeing these installations from David Vensson makes me wish for cozy, over sized things to nap on.
